Maurice’s son Matt and I became friends aged 5 and from that point Maurice was always like another Dad while growing up. He took me to my first football match - Rovers vs Bournemouth at Eastville - and then (whilst going to many more) spent the whole time I knew him attempting to change me from a ‘Saint’ to a ‘Pirate’ - I used to tell him they were my 2nd team but he would say, ‘Ah one day you’ll wake up!’ I loved listening to him, he always had such interesting stories and nothing was ever too much trouble. There are so many stories I could write but they would all highlight the massive heart he had for all and how he was always interested in what was going on. My thoughts and love are with the family at this time.
